One of my latest artistic goals is to find wonderful online images and rework them with my perspectives and skills.
Below are photos of steps along the way in the process of creating a pastel landscape and use botanical printmaking to compose the trees.
A pastel background of sky, land, and water is made. Once in place, dozens of yarrow leaves were printed to compose the forest. Pastel pencils were used to create the reflections on the water and provide enhancements.

Creating Yarrow Shoreline - 1 Very early stages of creating the pastel background of sky, land, and water.
Creating Yarrow Shoreline - 2 Yarrow leaves are printed to compose the trees. Tree reflections on the lake will be made using pastel pencils.
Creating Yarrow Shoreline - 3 Most of the prints are completed. When the ink dried, pastel pencils were used to draw in reflections that accurately represent images on the water.
