This original piece has chalk pastel painting on raw canvas to create the sky and waterway. Hundreds of grass prints compose the reeds; Yarrow and fern tips were printed to create the trees.

In Linda Snouffer's collection of Unexpected Botanicals, botanical prints are created in untraditional ways. Some landscapes are composed using plants printed to represent things other than the plant species (printed grasses look like cattails; yarrow leaves print into pine trees; mountains scenes were made using prints of banana leaves). Other landscapes use innovative printing techniques that resemble stained glass or Batik fabrics.
